Mashobra by Air
The nearest airport is the Jubbarhatti Airport in Shimla, 35 kms/1 hour away, traffic being kind to you. At the airport you’ll find a number of taxis that can get you to Mashobra. Alternatively, tell us and we will arrange a cab for you. This should cost approx Rs. 1000 – 1200.
The second nearest Airport is at Chandigarh, roughly a three to four hours drive from the city. It is well connected to the major cities like Amritsar, New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Goa, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Leh. Delhi is the nearest International Airport, 360 km away.
Mashobra by Rail
The nearest railhead is Kalka 103 kms/ 3 hours. You can also arrive at the Chandigarh Railway Station (130 kms/4 hours) . From both stations, cabs are easily available, however it is advisable to book in advance. From Kalka the cab to Mashobra will cost Rs. 2000 and from Chandigarh to Mashobra will cost Rs. 2500. Buses though are less expensive and quite easily available.
Mashobra by Bus
Once in Shimla, Mashobra is only 15 kilometers away and you will find many buses and taxis to get you to Mashobra from the Bus Stand.The taxi should charge approx Rs. 600 while the bus ticket will only cost you Rs 30. Buses leave  a few times daily for Mashobra from Shimla’s Lakkar Bazar.
Getting Around Mashobra
Using your own No. 11’s (legs, for the uninitiated) is the best way to see ANY hill station. Having said that, for day trips out of Mashobra, local taxis are advisable that can take you to see the local attractions or for a day trip to neighbouring Shimla. You could also borrow our Mountain bikes and see places close by, if you are comfortable riding one.
